How to Teach Fractions with a Number Line

CCSS.MATH 3.NF / 4.NF

Number lines provide a linear distance model for fractions, bridging the gap between pie charts and real numerical values. They help students understand that fractions are numbers with specific locations between whole integers.

01. Equal Partitions

Select different denominators (2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 10) in the toolbar to show how 1 whole is divided into equal intervals.

02. Decimal Equivalents
